Do you have a closet full of clothes, but still nothing great to wear??

You know how right before cooking a delicious recipe, you need to have all the right ingredients, and get rid of the unused ones to make some space on your kitchen counter. use this analogy to understand your own closet!

Every individual has personal style, but it does not develop overnight. Just like everything else, it needs some ground work. It's human nature to stick on to old clothes that you once liked, and adored but these are the items that distract you and make you feel like you have nothing to wear. To enjoy dressing up, or looking great and to develop a personal style is no rocket science, but you need to start somewhere, right?

Choose  a few outfits you wear all the time and try to figure out why? Is it the fit that flatters your body type, the color, the details, the over all styling or the compliments you got when you wear them. If you feel confident and powerful in those outfits, it just shows that you feel flattered in them and in the fashion lingo, that's whats your style map!

Part with the items in your closet which make you uncomfortable or conscious of yourself in any which way. if it's a gift from a loved one, keep it in some other cozy dresser drawer, not your regular closet space. Anything that you think is out of fashion, aesthetically not good, not your size, not your personality color, just give it away. You will anyways never wear it, no matter how hard you convince yourself, standing there before a Saturday night out!

Try to organize your closet space into categories and sub categories like colors, kind of clothing, seasonal wear, belts, shoes, bags, caps, accessories etc. This will help you mix and match, dress up quicker and have  loads of fun while you're trying to get ready.

Make sure you have a decent lighting arrangement within your closet. It makes it easier to pull out and see what you want to wear at the same time, and gives you far more leverage than you actually give it credit for. After the shortening session, if you don't really have anything nice left in your wardrobe, you should understand that it's time you went shopping.
